Frequently asked questions about connecting OpenCRMApp to your Vtiger CRM, notifications, compatibility, and privacy.
About OpenCRMApp
What is OpenCRMApp?
OpenCRMApp is a mobile app for Vtiger CRM that keeps you informed about what needs your attention — without constantly opening your CRM. It sends personalized push notifications for leads, customer visits, quotes, tickets, and other CRM activity you care about. You can also access your full Vtiger CRM from your Android phone: contacts, deals, calendar, tickets, and more.
Is OpenCRMApp an official Vtiger product?
No. OpenCRMApp is an independent third-party mobile app that connects to Vtiger CRM through the standard Vtiger Webservices REST API. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Vtiger Inc.
Is there an iPhone or iOS version?
OpenCRMApp is currently available for Android only via Google Play. An iOS version is not available at this time.
How much does OpenCRMApp cost?
OpenCRMApp is free to download and use. A premium plan is available for teams that need additional features and support. Contact us via chat for current pricing.
Vtiger CRM Compatibility
Which Vtiger versions are supported?
OpenCRMApp works with Vtiger CRM Open Source versions 6, 7, and 8. Both self-hosted and Vtiger Cloud (hosted at vtiger.com) installations are supported, provided the Webservices API is accessible.
What do I need to connect my Vtiger CRM?
You need your Vtiger server URL (e.g. https://yourcrm.yourdomain.com), your Vtiger username, and your password. No API key or server-side configuration is required. OpenCRMApp connects directly from your phone to your Vtiger server using the standard Webservices API.
Does OpenCRMApp work with Vtiger Community Edition?
Yes. OpenCRMApp is designed specifically for self-hosted Vtiger CRM Community Edition (versions 6, 7, and 8). It connects via the built-in Webservices API, which is enabled by default.
Is HTTPS required?
HTTPS is strongly recommended for any production Vtiger installation. OpenCRMApp will work with HTTP for local testing, but all public-facing servers should use HTTPS to protect your CRM credentials and data in transit.
Does OpenCRMApp support custom fields?
Yes. OpenCRMApp reads and displays all fields from your Vtiger installation, including custom fields added through Vtiger Studio or Module Builder. No additional configuration is needed.
Does it work with custom modules?
Yes. OpenCRMApp automatically discovers all custom modules built with Vtiger Module Builder when you connect your CRM. Custom modules appear alongside standard modules in the app.
Notifications & Reminders
Can I receive Vtiger notifications on my phone?
Yes — this is the core feature of OpenCRMApp. You create personal notification rules that tell the app what to watch in your Vtiger CRM and when to notify you. For example: remind me about leads not contacted for 7 days, alert me 30 minutes before a customer visit, or notify me when a ticket approaches its SLA deadline.
What kinds of notifications can OpenCRMApp send?
OpenCRMApp can notify you about any Vtiger module and any condition you define. Common examples include: lead follow-up reminders, customer visit reminders, quote follow-up alerts, new ticket assignments, SLA deadline warnings, and activity follow-ups after customer meetings.
Can each team member have different notification rules?
Yes. Each Vtiger user sets their own personal notification rules in OpenCRMApp. A sales rep, a field agent, and a support agent can each receive completely different reminders — without affecting other users.
What actions can I take directly from a notification?
Depending on the notification rule you create, you can: open the related CRM record, call the customer directly, open their location in Maps, or acknowledge the reminder — all without opening the full app.
Data & Privacy
Does OpenCRMApp store my CRM data?
OpenCRMApp connects directly from your phone to your Vtiger CRM server. Your CRM business data (contacts, deals, tickets, etc.) does not pass through OpenCRMApp servers. Connection credentials are stored locally on your device.
How are my Vtiger credentials handled?
Your Vtiger server URL, username, and password are stored securely on your Android device. They are used only to authenticate against your own Vtiger Webservices API. They are never sent to OpenCRMApp servers.
Can I remove my data or revoke access?
Yes. Uninstalling OpenCRMApp removes all locally stored credentials and cached data from your device. No data removal request is needed on the server side since OpenCRMApp does not store your CRM data externally.
