Vtiger CRM 7.4.0 GA Release — highlights and upgrade notes

Vtiger CRM 7.4.0 is released.

Key improvements in this version:
- PHP 7.4 compatibility
- Calendar module overhaul (new UI, agenda view)
- Import/export improvements
- Webservices stability fixes
- Performance improvements for large databases

Upgrading from 7.3? Use the migration wizard: Settings → Migrate.

Upgrade notes for Vtiger CRM 7.3 → 7.4:

1. Back up both files and database before starting
2. PHP 7.4 is required — PHP 5.6/7.0 are no longer supported
3. The migration wizard handles the database changes automatically

Common post-upgrade issues:

Issue: Calendar shows wrong timezone
Fix: Settings → My Preferences → check Timezone matches your server timezone.

Issue: Import still broken after upgrade
The CSV import fix requires local_infile = 1 in MySQL config — the upgrade does not change MySQL settings.

Issue: Custom modules missing from menu
Run: Settings → Module Manager → find the module → Enable. Then Settings → Repair → Rebuild Extensions.

PHP 7.4 deprecation to watch:
The {} array access syntax is deprecated in PHP 7.4 and removed in PHP 8.0. If you have custom Vtiger CRM code using this syntax, update it to $str[0].
